  • Setting the Time
QUICK SETTING INSTRUCTIONS: The CITIZEN Eco-Drive perpetual calendar watch is preset at the factory, but because it has crossed time zones and the international date line, you will probably need to set it once to be set for life. Just follow these simple instructions.
Pull the crown out to the first click. The second hand will move to the month/leap year position that has been previously set. Make sure that it is set to the correct month/leap year as follows:
  • Regarding the Month
    January: Between 1:00 and 2:00
    February: Between 2:00 and 3:00
    December: Between 12:00 and 1:00
    Year Passages Yea Passages
2000 Leap Year 2004 Leap Year
    2001 1st Year 2005 1st Year
    2002 2nd Year 2006 2nd Year
    2003 3rd Year 2007 3rd Year
  • To set the time, pull the crown out to the second click and adjust the second and minute hands. To advance the hands forward turn the crown clockwise, to go backwards turn the crown counterclockwise. Note: The hour hand is linked with the minute hand and can be set at this time or the hour hand can be set independently. (See Changing the time difference)
After setting is completed, return the crown to the original position, The watch will resume normal operation For setting the hour hand independently see Changing the time difference
After setting is completed, return the crown to the original position, The watch will resume normal operation
  • How to Read the Calendar memory
Pull the crown out one step; the second hand becomes the Month/Leap Year indicator. The hour markers, 1-12 acts as Month Number Indicators. The first 3-minute markers after each hour mark are used to indicate the number of years after a Leap Year. EXAMPLE: If the second hand moves to the 12 marker exactly, the Month would be December of a leap year. If the second hand moves to three 'ticks' after the 12, that would indicate that the memory is set to December and the Year is set to 3 Years after a Leap Year.
  • Setting the Calendar
Pull the crown out one step, the second hand will move to a Month/Leap Year position and stop.
To change the Month/Leap Year indication, turn the crown clockwise one 'click', the second hand moves forward one 'tic' turn the crown counter clockwise the second hand moves backwards. Set the second hand to correct indication according to the Calendar Memory guide shown to the left.
Changing the Date (Note the date can not be set independently) Leaving the crown in, press in and release the A button (that's the recessed push button at the 2:00 position on the side of the case.) Now turn your crown clockwise to advance the hour hand and date forward.
Turning the crown counter clockwise moves the hour hand and the date backwards. Turning crown continuously advances the hour hand rapidly. To stop rapid advancement turn the crown in either direction. Since the Calendar is perpetual, once it is set correctly, it changes Month, Year setting and Date automatically until the year 2100.

  • Changing the Time
With crown in (do not pull out).
Press in and release button (A) the recessed push button at the 2:00 position on the side of the case and turn the crown clockwise, the hour hand will move forward by one hour. Turn the crown counterclockwise and the hand will move backwards one hour. The second hand continues moving while Time Zone is changed so the accuracy of the time is not affected.
  • All Reset/Alignment
Pull out the crown to the second click. Press button (A) for 1 second. (The second & hour hands will perform a forward backward forward movement) With the crown out 2 clicks align the second and minute hands to the 12:00 position. With the crown 1 click out align the date between the 31st and the 1st and the hour hand at the 12:00 position Note: Turn the crown clockwise advances the hands forward, turning the crown counter clockwise advances the hands backwards. After all the hands and the date have been set, return the crown to the normal position and proceed with setting procedure.
  • IMPORTANT NOTE
Time and Calendar setting is done electronically by turning the crown
